MY STORY

My entrepreneurial story began in the Fall of 2003. The small business where I’d worked for more than eight years as an Office Manager was sold to a large corporation. New ownership brought unexpected changes.  My life and my family’s life changed radically from what we had become accustomed.

And of course all of this change brought a lot of emotion—I felt lost and powerless, daily.

In a move to reclaim my power I decided to start my own business out of my home.  The desire for freedom drove this decision–I was determined  to design a work life that was best for me and my family. I set out to start my Virtual Assistant business by first attending the AssistU, a training program.  A whirlwind ensued–I quit my job in March, had my second child in April, and launched my VA business in July.

It was a challenging year that brought more rewards than almost any other decision I had ever made!  I cashed in my retirement in order to quit my job, juggled a 3-year-old and a newborn while sleep-deprived, started pursuing clients–talk about stress! But, I knew it was up to me to get out there and make things happen, and confidence and courage came with each step I took.

I moved from dreamland to reality and took real life steps to make it happen.

With the confidence and courage I grew a very successful referral based VA business working with many different business owners in a variety of fields and industries.

Having also completed two training programs to become a Life Coach and then a Master Certified Life Coach, in May of 2105 I knew it was time to fly and transition from supporting others in the admin side to supporting women in being strong, confident, capable–leading careers and lives that they love.

This last year has been wonderful–new friendships and connections, stretching again, in order to build another successful business. There’s ups, there’s downs, there’s days I doubt, but more than anything there’s days I trust and know that part of my purpose here in this world is help to others see what they may not see in themselves. Inspiring, encouraging, facilitating conversation, creating community and walking together in support of one another and strength.
